Automatic Mechanical Movement Watches

The passage of time on an automatic mechanical movement watch is measured by a spring-driven mechanism. The spring, known as the mainspring, is automatically wound with natural motion and does not require the use of a battery. Mechanical timepieces perform virtually the same function as those powered by quartz movement but with a stunning and complicated mechanism. A mechanical world of complex spiralling springs and moving gears fuel the movement of the watch hands with elegant accuracy, mechanical movements must be expertly hand crafted over longer periods of time, they are often visible through the casing of the watch and are seen as many by a form of art.
